Adunni Atelier cuts for one person at a time: bridal, aso-ebi, occasion and everyday wear. Every piece starts the same way, with an appointment, a tape measure and an honest conversation about what will actually suit you.

01 / The measuring room
Start with an appointment, not a basket.
Nothing on this site can be added to a cart, because nothing here exists until it is cut for someone. Choose the kind of appointment you need and we will confirm a time within one working day.
Consultation and fitting fees are taken off your first order. All times are West Africa Time (UTC+1).
02 / The collection
Six pieces we are asked for again and again.
Each one is made to your measurements in cloth you choose. The price shown is where a commission starts; the final quote follows your fabric, your beadwork and your date.

03 / In the workroom
Five stages, one pair of shoulders.

Measure
Twenty-four measurements, taken standing, in the underwear and the shoes you actually plan to wear. We write them down and keep them on file.

Choose the cloth
Adire, aso-oke, lace, brocade or wax print, ours or yours. We will tell you which of them behaves and which will fight the shape you want.

Cut a toile
For anything structured we cut a calico first, so the fit is tested on cheap cloth instead of on your lace.

Fit twice
Two working fittings, roughly ten days apart. Bring your accessories to the second one; a gele changes how a neckline reads.

Finish and hand over
Pressed, bagged and photographed. Collect at the studio, or we courier it and send you the tracking number.
04 / The cloth
We buy from the people who make it.
Three families of cloth do most of the work in this atelier. Each one behaves differently, and each one changes what a piece can cost and how long it takes.
Adire
Indigo resist-dyed in Abeokuta. No two yards match exactly, which is the point of it. Allow an extra week if you want a pattern placed rather than repeated.
Aso-oke
Hand-woven strip cloth, ordered by the yard from weavers in Iseyin. It is woven to order, so allow three extra weeks and expect the width to vary.
Wax print
Bought at Balogun and Oshodi, or brought in by you. It shrinks, so every yard is washed and pressed before it is cut. Six yards makes a full set.
Bring your own
Yes, you can bring your own cloth.
Most of our clients do, and we are glad of it. Bring the full yardage and, if you have it, the receipt. We will pre-wash and press it at no charge.
What we will not do is cut into cloth we think is wrong for the piece without saying so first. If your six yards will not hold a pleat, or your lace will collapse under beadwork, you will hear it at the consultation rather than at the second fitting.
05 / Aso-ebi and family orders
One family. One cloth. Twenty different bodies.
Introductions, weddings, birthdays and burials. We measure your whole party in a single sitting, keep every set of numbers on file and sew the group to one agreed standard, so the photographs look like one family rather than eleven tailors.
- Six pieces minimum, no upper limit
- One session at the studio, or we come to you anywhere in Lagos
- A written schedule with every name, measurement and delivery date
- Balance payable before the final fitting, never on the morning of the event
06 / The hands
Eleven people share one workroom.
Three of them will touch your piece directly. You will meet at least one of them at every fitting, so you always know who is holding the pins.

Founder and head cutterTrained in Abeokuta and then for six years in a bridal workroom in Surulere. Adunni cuts every bridal and occasion pattern in the house and takes every first consultation herself.

Is my appointment confirmed as soon as I send the form?
No. The form sends a request. We reply by phone or email within one working day, Monday to Saturday, with a confirmed time. Please do not travel to the studio until you have that reply.
